If you are a student of Commerce, you must be aware that they are the laws of demand and supply which decide price. Greater the demand, higher the price and greater the supply, lower the price. Even if you aren’t a Commerce graduate or under-graduate, you ought to know this basic principle of pricing.

This week’s release Heroes, is about two guys who go on a road trip and discover their lost patriotism – reminiscent of Satyen Bose’s 1954 classic, Jagriti, about abunch of students taking a trip to understand what India is all about.

With so many cases of Bollywood personalities in court, a few did get decided. Orders in some other cases provided temporary relief to the accused: Sanjay Dutt was freed from Yerawada jail on bail in the 1993 Bombay bomb blasts case; The Allahabad high court gave a clean chit to Amitabh Bachchan in the Barabanki land case, freeing him of charges of cheating and forgery; The Supreme Court allowed Monica Bedi to leave her village and she promptly got herself ‘imprisoned’ in the house of the Bigg Boss, a television reality show!

All film fans watch movies closely and critics, of course, carry their own magnifying glasses to previews to detect each and every flaw they can find and highlight in their reviews but no one examines our films more closely than a bunch of people intent on raking up trouble. This year, as every year, saw protests by interested parties against a variety of films, particularly just before their release.

Hindi films became popular in China, especially Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., and those starring Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai.

RELEASES
There were 219 releases between Diwali 2007 and Diwali 2008. Of these, 127 were Hindi films and 87 were dubbed in Hindi from different languages. There were three English films too, one film in English-Hindi and one in English-Sindhi.
