Review of Kisse Pyaar Karoon?
February 27, 2009 by FSJ · Leave a Comment
On the whole, Kisse Pyaar Karoon? is a poor show all the way. It has some masala for the front-benchers and small centres but its poor star cast will come in the way of its performance at the ticket windows. It has taken a disastrous start and will go down in cinema history as a flop fare.
Review of Siddharth – The Prisoner

On the whole, Siddharth – The Prisoner is a film devoid of entertainment and is actually meant for festivals only. At the box-office, it will prove to be a supreme disaster. It will be a wonder if it can complete even a week’s run at any cinema.

Review of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (English)

F. Scott Fitzgerald would have been very pleased with Paramount Pictures’ The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button (UA), adapted from his classic short story about an infant who is born old and ages in reverse. Taking the story to a different level, screenwriters Eric Roth and Robin Swicord highlight historical moments, from World War I to Hurricane Katrina, and philosophise about life and death.

Review of Delhi-6
February 21, 2009 by FSJ · Leave a Comment
On the whole, notwithstanding its wonderful music, high-budgeted Delhi-6 is too metaphorical for the liking of the masses. It will appeal to a section of the multiplex audience in the big cities (mainly of North India, because of the North Indian flavour of the film) but that just won’t be enough to cover its heavy cost. It will face rejection by the majority and will, therefore, prove to be a losing fare.
Review of Milk (English)
February 21, 2009 by FSJ · Leave a Comment
Way back in the 1970s, homosexuals marched down the streets of conservative San Francisco, and shortly afterwards, created history when their leader, Harvey Milk (Sean Penn), became the first openly gay male to be elected to political office in the US. Focus Features and Axon Films’ Milk (A) is a factual account of the defining Gay Liberation Movement.

Several assassination bids were made on the life of Adolf Hitler. United Artists’ Valkyrie (UA) documents the last attempt and the internal wartime politics, à la Hollywood.

Life as a Hollywood film producer is not a bed of beautiful women, champagne, and cocktail parties. There is another side to it. 2929 Productions’ What Just Happened (A) offers an insider’s view of the nonsense that Ben (Robert De Niro), a leading producer, takes in his stride, at a time when he is beginning to miss his divorced wife.
