On the whole, Kisaan is a dull fare in which the soul is missing. Except for the small centres of U.P., Punjab and Bihar, where action rules, it will find few takers. Whatever little business it manages to do, will come mostly from single-screen cinemas as the multiplex audience would almost completely reject the film.

On the whole, John Travolta and Denzel Washington put up great performances in a gunmen-and-hostages drama that has a mediocre plot. Though this train does not jump on to any unexpected tracks, the sheer pace and action is enough to thrill a sizeable section of the audience.
