Pleasant Dreams

October 24, 2009 by FSJ

If the 30-minute show reel of Vipul Shah’s London Dreams is anything to go by, the filmmaker seems to be in form yet again.
No doubt, the film has cost producer P.J. Singh a bomb because of the unrealistically high star prices and the canvas of the film (it has been shot extensively in London and other places in the UK), but the feeling one gets after watching the show reel is that the film has plenty to offer.

Salman Khan, it seems, will score with his comedy and emotional scenes.  And Ajay Devgan should cast a lasting impression in the intense, emotional and dramatic scenes. The songs of the film are already gaining in popularity and at least a couple of them have the potential of becoming chart busters.

The Hanuman chalisa included in a song of the film may have rattled some narrow-minded people but it seems to be a masterstroke because it has a mesmerising effect on the viewer. Don’t be surprised if the audience in the cinemas gets carried away with the Hanuman chalisa recital.

After all the talk a year back that the film was sold for 120 crores,. And later when every business was hit by recession forcing the main players( Vipul Shah, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn) to take huge pay cuts and sell it for reasonable prices. I hope this film gets past the finishing sucess line especially since big Budget movies because of their high selling prices have failed this year ( Khambakth Ishq and Blue )
