Review of Bal Ganesh 2 (Animation)
October 24, 2009 by FSJ
On the whole, Bal Ganesh 2 is a poor show all the way and will not meet with success. Shemaroo Entertainment and Astute Media Vision’s Bal Ganesh 2 (animation) is the sequel to Bal Ganesh and is about the childhood escapades of Lord Ganesh.
The film’s narrative begins with a group of mice meeting at a place and deciding to share some stories of Bal Ganesh. In all, there are three stories. Before the three stories, a recapitulation of the first film is shown.
The first story is about Bal Ganesh and a cat, with Goddess Parvati giving him some advice in the end. The second story is about how Bal Ganesh fights with Gajmukhasur and saves all the Gods. The last story is about how Bal Ganesh impresses sage Vyasa with his intelligence and speedy writing skills and helps him in writing the Mahabharat.
None of the stories is exciting or even interesting enough, as a result of which boredom creeps in pretty fast. Writer Pankaj Sharma tries hard to evoke laughter but fails. Animation is okay but could’ve been far better. Direction (Pankaj Sharma) is ordinary. Dubbing of the animated characters is alright. However, the dialogues (Pankaj Sharma, Eliza Lewis, Vijay Bhanushali and Greta Lewis), spoken in Bambaiya language, don’t go well with the religious flavour of the film. Music (Shamir Tandon and Sanjay Dhakan) is a complete letdown.
On the whole, Bal Ganesh 2 is a poor show all the way and will not meet with success.
