After ‘Jogva’, iDream Dreams Big For Another Marathi Film
February 6, 2010 by FSJ
After its Marathi film, Jogva, bagged five National Awards for 2008, iDream Production is excited about another Marathi film it has produced.
For, like Jogva, its Pangira is also based on social issues. In fact, among the five trophies Jogva, directed by Rajiv Patil, picked up, one was for the best film on social issues.
While Jogva is a poignant tale of a woman’s inspiring journey to break free from the shackles of discrimination, sexual oppression and servitude, Pangira discusses the issue of water shortage, soil conservation, sugarcane farm- ing problems and farmer suicides in Maharashtra.
The contemporary film is based on a book written by Bombay collector Vishwas Patil.
Issue dated Feb 7 – 13, 2010
