Rajanikanth Petrified?

February 24, 2010 by FSJ

Rajanikanth Rajanikanth seems to be so fearful of death after the demise of close friend and Kannada films’ superstar Vishnuvardhan that he recently conducted the Maha Mrityunjaya homa to ward off Death.
The Tamil films’ superstar visited several shrines in and around Mysore this month to counter evil forces. The recent death of Vishnuvardhan seems to have alerted Rajanikanth into appeasing the Gods. Rajani had starred as the lead in Chandramukhi, the Tamil remake of Vishnuvardhan’s Kannada film, Aptha Mitra.

There has been talk that the spirit of Nagavalli (a split-personality character in the film) claimed the lives of Vishnuvardhan and his co-star, Soundarya, who was killed in an air crash a month before the film’s release in 2004. Rumours have it that Rajanikanth has even declined an offer from noted director P. Vasu to act in the Tamil remake of the sequel of Aptha Mitra – Aptha Rakshaka.

The shooting of the recently-released Aptha Rakshaka got over just a month before Vishnuvardhan’s death in December last year. Aptha Rakshaka was Vishnuvardhan’s 200th film as hero. He had said that its shooting had been marked by accidents and hallucinations.
