Fittingly, ‘Masterclass’, a one-on-one interaction between Mira Nair and Sudhir Mishra at The Blue Frog was sponsored by a premium Scotch whisky brand… both, Sudhir and Mira, are so mature and golden-voiced that an ordinary IMFL would have been blasphemous! During the discussion and Q&A session that followed, Mira came out as an intelligent, articulate and pragmatic filmmaker and her words of advice were enlightening. Sudhir was his usual self, impassive face and impassioned voice.

Most of the events of the week, whether related to films or film stars, were centred around Children’s Day, on November 14. Surprisingly, the industry seems to have embraced Children’s Day, perhaps, in recognition that kids make a huge difference at the box-office.
