Friday, the 12th of February, will go down in Indian film history as a black day for Bollywood. For, although superstar Shah Rukh Khan valiantly fought a political party known for its violent ways and managed to release his most ambitious film, My Name Is Khan, without bowing down to the dictates of the supremo of the political party for an apology, the release was so haphazard that it exposed the vulnerability of the film industry.

It is with a lot of trepidation that multiplexes and cinemas of Bombay screened the controversial My Name Is Khan on Friday, February 12. Till late Thursday night, it was almost certain that the city would give the Rs. 90 crore film a miss in view of the open threats issued by Shiv Sena to cinemas, asking them to refrain from running the film.

- On an average, a big-budget film is shot for anywhere between 100 and 200 days. There are also small-budget films which are completed in a fortnight-long shooting schedule! Actually, it all depends on the director and the genre of the film. Some directors shoot fast, others take a long time. Action films take more shooting days than love stories or family dramas.
